Why It Is Important To Tell Our Story Regardless of Where We

Some of us have been through the most agonizing, heart-rending years in our lives. Then, COVID 19 paid a visit, and the world got disrupted by a virus that caused us to shelter in place as a way to stay alive. When life hits the fan, it can stop us cold in our tracks. It can be so humbling.

The past year and a half took so much from so many of us. But one thing it wasn’t able to take away from us was our voices and our desire to reach others!

Your voice is your vessel to create a ripple of positivity. Your voice is your power.

YOU have the ability to be the positive voice in a sea of so many negative, harmful messages. It’s time to find your voice, shape your message and use your power to impact others and your world too!

Borrowing a phrase from Oprah Winfrey, here’s what I know for sure.

We can’t control what happens to us. We CAN control how to respond to what happens around us. That means taking stock of the special skills, talents, and genius we have and finding new and relevant ways to serve, grow and profit when life gets hard. If that means booking a short stay in Pity Party Hotel, to mourn what has been lost, and feel all the emotions that go with that, pull the covers over your head and feel those feelings as the crocodile tears flow, OR we can find a way to serve others in a way for which our friends, family, ideal clients will happily share their/our stories to get the benefits or relief from sharing with others how we overcame life’s challenges and obstacles, and how it can help others who might be living inferior lives and struggling to get to the next level and where they want to be.

We can help others guard their integrity, attain towards maturity, develop a character of nobility and live above mediocrity by sharing our how we were victims and how we became victors. How we got away from the place we used to be to arrive at the place where we want to be.

We must be the change we want to see in others in the world.

By getting people to unselfishly share their stories, areas of expertise, how they overcame challenges and obstacles in life whether it be emotional, financial, physical, psychological, interpersonal, spiritual or organizational, we inadvertently help others to navigate through life and change their story. After all, we are all in this together. No one can walk alone, we need each other, help one another change the narrative, collaborate and innovate together to make a difference and bring about change for the betterment of all mankind. We can become Story Tellers, Change Makers, Peace Makers, Healers and Restorers. Our messages need to be shared. We must find new ways to share the good news and glad tidings. Do you agree?
